Our about us page provides an overview of our church, Pastor Joseph S Toomey III, and his wife Pastor Daisy Astacio-Toomey.

Our Church

Great Commission Fellowship Center is a Non-Denomination, Spirit filled, Jesus loving church where you will find people of different nationality and ethnicity. We come together as one to enter an environment of worship and praise with reckless abandon.

Worship is more than just songs that we sing, it's a way of life. It's the way we live our lives on a day to day basis, facing and embracing all the challenges of life.

We rejoice knowing that we serve a God who gives us the strength and courage needed to make it through each day, emerging victoriously.

Both of our Pastors have been in ministry for well over 25 years and have worked with such great leaders as Joyce Meyers, Dr. Gary and Janis Smith, Senior Pastors of City of Life formerly known as Heartland Community Church.

We are excited about what the Lord is doing in our ministry, and we hope that you will visit us in the very near future.

Our Pastors

Pastor Joseph S. Toomey III

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ from Pastor Joseph S. Toomey III, Founder, Chairman, and Senior Pastor of Great Commission Fellowship Center.

Pastor Toomey was born in Monrovia, the capital of Liberia on the West Coast of Africa. At age 10 he came to the United States to join his father who had already been here a couple of years.

As a boy, Joseph experienced cultural shock and was unprepared for the school system. After being bullied, teased, and taunted, he adjusted and began to focus on his schoolwork; however, he soon strayed in pursuit of other interests leading to bigger problems down the road.

As an adult, his life took a turn for the worse until decades later in Brooklyn, NY, after hitting rock bottom he surrendered his life to Christ in November of 1990.

Pastor Toomey is an ordained minister who has been working in God's kingdom for well over 25 years, and has led countless men and women to the Lord. Some of his training includes: Substance abuse, Suicide Intervention, Pre-and Post-Marital Counseling, One on One Counseling, and Family Counseling, all of which is faith based.

Pastor Daisy Astacio-Toomey

Pastor Daisy Astacio-Toomey is a native New Yorker whose parents were both born in Ponce, Puerto Rico. Pastor Daisy has also had her share of life's experience but in a different light.

She was raised with both of her parents along with her five brothers in a Christian home and is the youngest of the bunch.

In her early twenties Pastor Daisy was married and had two wonderful boys. Like many marriages it did not work out, leaving her alone with two little ones to raise.

Shortly thereafter, Pastor Daisy joined a Christian Organization called Redemption Ministry in New York, and began to teach Sunday school. Later she became the Superintendent.

Pastor Daisy developed a deep sense of compassion for women that are struggling to make it and has become an encouragement to them. She is a great leader, teacher, and counselor.

Pastor Daisy attended Baruch College and is a Licensed and Ordained Minister of the Lord, and attained the Arno Profile Christian Counseling License. She has truly been a blessing to everyone that she has encountered.

Joseph and his beautiful wife of 21 years Daisy, have three handsome sons and one beautiful daughter.
